So this one is a bit of a stretch for a lighting blog, but the 11 minutes of visual meditation is worth it. Besides, this video is just light, dark, and movement. Enjoy!

So UNESCO wants 2015 to be a year focused on light. Awesome! There are so many ways that better education on and access to good lighting can improve humans’ lives.
But they forgot to include lighting designers in their proposal. Whoops! Follow this link to sign a petition asking UNESCO to involve LIGHTING designers in talks on LIGHT. Great idea, eh?

It seems like I’ve been so busy lately and nothing has piqued my interest to post for awhile and then all of a sudden, people do cool things with lights again!

Videos of people doing sports with LEDs are becoming pretty common, and usually it’s pretty boring. THIS concept, however, is unique in quite a few ways. The use of a flying drone for filming is done incredibly well. The fact that the lights themselves are unseen and only the glow is visible adds to the mystery and drama. Just looking at someone with lights on them isn’t usually enough. The key, I think, is that you get to see the light revealing the surroundings, BUT JUST A LITTLE. It makes me want to see so much more and keeps me hanging on. Editing and score are perfect and the Prague scenery is beautiful. Bravo, Samadhi Productions!

What the what? Wow!
