"Pipette" is a new installation by Miriam Sleeman and Tom Sloan at King’s Cross Station in London. The lightwall itself was designed by Speirs+Major.
Lovely, subtle show. Would love to walk down this with other people and experience it surrounding me! (No way a video could fully portray this experience. Yet?)
A pretty cool light made out of crumple-able plastic fabric. Definitely higher creativity than light output, but a great idea!
GoPro on a car wheel = real life kaleidoscope.
Thanks to This Is Colossal and Mr. Fox.
(How was it attached, you ask? Duct tape, of course!)
Thank you artchipel for this photo from Romain Jacquet-Lagrèze.
If you live in Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, or Quebec, take advantage of this! Absolutely incredible multi-sensory night journey through a fantastical forest. Top kudos to Moment Factory!
Nasir al-mulk Mosque.
Thanks to f**kyeahlighting for the link!
Just saw this photo in a great blog post from LeapFrog Lighting. This is a Los Angeles street before (left) and after an LED change-over. I definitely prefer one over the other. What about you?
Philips is a massive, behemoth of a lighting company. Lots of pros and cons come with that, but I will say that they do a lot of work in disadvantaged areas of the world. Here’s something they did in Vietnam.
Also shows how much we take artificial light for granted!
Famous Disney animator Glen Keane just released an animated short that is pretty much just painted light. Amazing.
Great op-ed piece by Akiko Busch on the summer solstice and our lack of darkness at night, or ever.
